December 2022 Bright Spots: Lead Poisoning Prevention Efforts in Milwaukee

At December’s Bright Spot Webinar, Shy McElroy will present on lead poisoning prevention efforts in Milwaukee. Shy works for the Wisconsin Board for People with Developmental Disabilities as a community organizer for the Coalition on Lead Emergency (COLE). In this role she does outreach and education on lead poisoning. Since lead poisoning is a cause of developmental disabilities, the effort raises awareness about early screening, works to increase screening in child care and health care, and supports families to advocate for screening/testing.
