August’s presenter is Geeta Wadhwani, the program leader for the Children’s Health Alliance’s Medical Home Initiative. She will discuss the Alliance’s food security initiative.
Cross-sector partnerships between clinics and food pantries are critical to support children and family’s connection to nutrition and food resources, as well as to other benefits (e.g., TANF, SNAP, WIC) and even to a medical home. The Alliance’s food security initiative brings health and food systems together (in Milwaukee) to build strong relationships in order to increase access to nutritious, culturally appropriate food.
The Association of Maternal & Child Health Programs (AMCHP) awarded this collective practice with the Advancing Health Equity Award at the 2023 AMCHP conference in New Orleans.
